Emma Leffler, is a senior Girl Scout pursuing her Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can achieve.
For her Gold Award project, Emma wanted to help struggling families in Warren County, so she decided to develop a project to help families who are placed in new homes through our Interfaith Hospitality Network program.
Her goal was to provide our exiting guests with basic household necessities to help them transition into their new homes.
To accomplish this, Emma worked tirelessly with local retailers, corporations, and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church of Phillipsburg, as well as family and friends to collect items to be included in the welcome baskets.
The project took more than 80 hours to complete. The community was very generous in their donations and over 475 items were collected to make a total of 30 welcome baskets.
Family Promise is very thankful for the generosity of the Warren County community and for all of Emma’s hard work.
WE THANK YOU, EMMA!
