Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
The end of another year is fast approaching, and with it the holidays we cherish and celebrate with family and friends. For families served by Family Promise, this time of the year can be more stressful than usual. They long for stability in their lives and a home of their own.
The good news is that with your help and support we are making a huge difference. With our operation of a supportive housing program, our small after care program and our involvement with two other re-housing and supportive housing programs in addition to the Interfaith Hospitality Network, we are making a difference in our own backyards.
Family Promise continues to work toward its own financial stability. Several years ago we faced the serious potential of the agency’s demise. While we still struggle to sustain the agency, we are pleased to tell you that Family Promise and the Interfaith Hospitality Network is more secure now.
A great deal of those thanks go to the large number of volunteers and supporters who give their best, each and every day, to serve and provide for the most vulnerable folks in Warren County. And we cannot forget the tremendous support of our partners in the business community.
There are always challenges and there always will be difficulties. Just today for example, we learned that our passenger van with only 78,000 miles needs yet another transmission…..and we are just out of warranty. (But at least the first engine and transmission replacements were covered by General Motors.)
The agency is meant to endure and it will. This is especially true as the success of Family Promise of Warren County is the result of the wonderful efforts and support from all of you.
Many of our supporters make their charitable contributions during the last few days of the calendar year, more than at any other time of the year. You have many options and there are many agencies to support. We are honored when you choose to support Family Promise of Warren County. Your tax deductible contribution allows us to continue our mission of serving families and children.
On behalf of the staff and the Board of Trustees of Family Promise, I want to extend to you our sincere appreciation for all your efforts in support of the agency’s mission. And we wish you the best of the holiday season and a happy and healthy New Year.
