Churches Play "Santa" to WCIHN Families and "Graduates"

While the goal of WCIHN is to get families into homes as quickly as possible, these families make a lasting mark on the hearts of our volunteers, and are not soon forgotten.

Aware that some of the "recent graduates" of our program might be able to use some help this Christmas, churches including St. Luke's Lutheran Church went the extra mile, and collected gifts to be given to the children. Pastor Karol Van Wulfen and Arlys Rauf organized a Jesse Tree, and as you can see by the slideshow and the thank you below, they made some beautiful Christmas memories.

A thank you from Karen:
...I want to say thank you for providing the gifts that made Audra and Joseph’s Christmas wonderful. It brought tears to my eyes when I received the phone call that we were thought of for your giving tree. I would never have thought I would be receiving gifts from your church. You have touched my heart deeply, and again I thank you; even though thank you does not seem enough. The smiles on Audra and Joseph’s face made me cry. The year I had was rough, but to your church, the year ended great when I saw those smiles. May each and everyone have a blessed year.

With sincerity and love,

Karen (Audra and Joseph would be thankful too if they knew)

Many thanks to St. Luke's, and to all our generous volunteers!
