What:
A Cardboard City- our goal is to gather as many youth together as possible and spend the night in a temporary dwelling; a cardboard box

When: Saturday, May 11th - Sunday May 12th @ 4:30pm (to assemble houses and attend 5:30pm Mass) -9am

Why: To raise awareness of homelessness here within our local community and to raise money for organizations that support the homeless and impoverished. (Monies to be donated to Family Promise of Warren County Inc. www.wcihn.org)

Where: Parking lot of St. Mary’s School and Church of the Assumption's front lawn. Hackettstown, NJ

How: Become a resident of the city by collecting pledges and spending one night in a cardboard box. Invite your friends to participate as well.

Bring: Your dwelling if possible, (or contact Lisa Valentino and let her know that you will need a box.) Duct tape, a sleeping bag and a pillow, a quiet game like cards.

Do Not Bring: Personal electronic devices (such as ipods, hand held video games etc.) If you bring a cell phone we will ask that you use it in case of emergency only.

What will be provided at the event? A simple meal for dinner much like what would be served at a soup kitchen and a simple breakfast in the morning as well.

What if it rains? Just as the homeless do we will cope with the weather that day. If a safety risk is involved we will move the event indoors.

Security and adult chaperones will be on site at all times. Adult volunteers are needed to help in this area so please consider volunteering.
