Family Promise of Warren County held its first Golf Outing on August 12 at Hawk Pointe Golf Club, Washington, NJ. The event, destined to become an annual project to raise funds for the agency, was enjoyed by all, who received a terrific lunch and dinner, and 18 holes of golf on the beautiful course.

Those who participated were eligible for a variety of prizes donated by area businesses and groups, including The Hole-in-One chances to win $5000 from Rossi Chevrolet and a three year lease on a brand new Ford from Smith Motors, if they were lucky enough to hit a hole in one on select tee shots. Sadly, no one was that fortunate. However, Mike Bowen won Closest to the pin, Gary Ostman won Straightest Drive and Jared Zogg won Longest Drive. Other opportunities were a Pot of Gold hole, Beat the Pro and, of course, the player with the Highest Score (who got golf lessons), as well as various door prizes, so everyone had a good time.

Hawk Pointe Foundation provided to the overall champion a Stay & Play package for a foursome at Hawk Pointe’s Historic 1776 guest house that includes overnight accommodations and a round of golf for four including carts. Anthony Toth, Jared Zogg, Jairo Hernandez and Mike Petrik won this package.

A host of local businesses and groups provided sponsorships and/or foursomes to aid the cause.  Family Promise extends tremendous appreciation for their participation, and encourages all to consider these sponsors when searching for goods and services.

And a special thanks to the management and staff at Hawk Pointe Golf Course for handling the details and providing a terrific venue for the event and to the staff and volunteers of Family Promise of Warren County.
